Please download and read the Sophos Install Notes prior to installing Sophos Antivirus.

• Sophos Install notes for Mac OSx 10.2 and up

Check that your computer is running OS X 10.2 or newer by going to the Apple menu and selecting "About this Mac."  Sophos Anti-Virus will not work on any Mac OS version older than OS X 10.2.

Make sure you know your administrator account password.  (This is the same password you use for Software Update and other program installations.)  You will need to enter your administrator account password in order to install Sophos.  If you do not know your administrator account password, you will have to reset it.

Before installing Sophos Anti-Virus, you will need to uninstall all other antivirus software from your Mac including older versions of KU distributed Sophos AntiVirus.  Please see your antivirus software vendor’s website for instructions on how to uninstall their product.
