How to determine what version of Sophos you have installed

Summary: Keeping your Antivirus software updated is critical to safe computing.
There are a few simple steps you can follow to ensure that you have the latest version of the Sophos client installed on your Windows PC.
Check your PC Client
1: Look in the System Tray (the area with the clock) on your Windows Desktop.
Users of SAV Classis will see a flower like icon like this:

Users of the current (non classic) Sophos product will have a shield type icon like this:

2: Additionally if you have the shield icon, right click on it and select open Sophos AntiVirus. In the left hand menu, select "View Product Information"

3: If you have the flower icon (and thus SAV Classic) or an older versions of the current product, follow the instructions below to update your Sophos client.

How to update
Users can download the new version of Sophos Antivirus from the IT Security Office website at http://www.security.ku.edu/antivirus/download.jsp

Note
Users should uninstall any Antivirus products prior to installing new AV.
